As an avid walker of Pittsburgh, I have enjoyed climbing the city steps since I moved here in the summer of 2009.
In the summer of 2020 I downloaded the City of Pittsburgh’s database of steps, and I now have a goal of visiting each of the 877 sets of steps listed.
After visiting each set of city steps, I add photos to this site plus my evaluation of the steps’ condition, including a repair priority number based on my personal assessment. I’ve also added neighborhood links to help make each set of steps easier to find if you would like to explore the marvels of Pittsburgh’s city steps yourself.
